Publication policy

Corrections, versions, withdrawals, and retractions.

Every published Gen318 Performance Index is an immutable version of record. We do not silently replace a PDF, annex, manifest, or signature after publication.

01 · Classification

Minor

Typography, formatting, or link repairs that do not change interpretation, evidence, denominators, credit, or citation. The public file is not silently replaced; the repair is logged for the next edition.

Moderate

A change that affects a table, chart, explanation, attribution, or limitation without overturning the edition's central interpretation. Gen318 issues a new immutable edition row and DOI linked through Crossmark.

Major

A change that materially affects interpretation, scope, evidence quality, contributor credit, or a central result. Gen318 issues a new immutable edition row and DOI, prominently labels the correction, and supersedes—never deletes—the prior version.

Withdrawal or retraction

Used when a version should no longer be relied on, including rights, privacy, fabrication, or irrecoverable evidence defects. The DOI landing page and files remain as a tombstone record, with the reason and current status carried through Crossmark.

02 · Correction workflow
  1. 1. Receive and preserve. Record the report, affected edition, evidence, reporter, and time without modifying the published files.
  2. 2. Triage independently. Determine severity, rights/privacy impact, affected cells, and whether readers must stop relying on the edition.
  3. 3. Rebuild from evidence. Prepare a new candidate row, rerun disclosure controls, PDF/A validation, hashes, manifest signing, and independent/editorial approval.
  4. 4. Register and preserve. Mint a new DOI for an editorially significant correction, publish new preservation record(s), and link the prior DOI through Crossmark.
  5. 5. Keep the history visible. The original landing page remains available and points to the replacement. No DOI is reassigned and no released byte is overwritten.
03 · How to report a concern

Email the edition DOI, affected page/table/cell, the suspected problem, and supporting evidence to hello@gen318.com. Do not send confidential site-level data unless Gen318 confirms a secure transfer route.

Gen318 acknowledges a correction report, preserves the original submission, and publishes the outcome or status through the edition's Crossmark record. Rights or privacy incidents follow the stricter incident-response and erasure procedures without destroying the public correction trail.
